North Toledo Bend State Park fills up for Crappie Classic weekend — campers who know this lake know exactly where they want to be. Campground reservations and RV availability both go fast once the tournament dates are confirmed.
If you’re coming from Shreveport (about 90 minutes north on US-171), Alexandria (about 90 minutes east on LA-6 through Natchitoches), or crossing from East Texas through Joaquin or Center on TX side of the border — this lake is worth the drive. Just don’t make the drive and then find out there’s nowhere to sleep comfortably near the water.
